No-fluff marketing & comms for mission-driven tech orgs.

About

I’m Gia DeHart—a marketing and communications strategist who builds programs from 0 to 1. I started my career as a Navy officer running public affairs for one of the largest bases (basically a mayor’s office with jets) and directing the crisis response during the worst terrorist attack since 9/11 on U.S. soil.

Since then, I’ve helped defense startups scale through $150M+ raises and guided a legacy space company through its transition from public to private equity while reshaping its narrative toward software.

Across roles, I’ve advised admirals, founders, investors, and executives on narrative, risk, and influence. My work has landed everywhere from Bloomberg Tech and Fast Company to the niche trades that actually move revenue.

What I Do

I work with founders and new orgs at the intersection of deep tech, national security, and policy. I help build brands and sharpen the narrative in environments where speed beats perfection.

In corporate speak → strategic communications, media relations, executive communications, product marketing, brand strategy, fractional head of marketing/comms.

How I Work

I stay close to the founder, build strategy, and execute alongside the team.

I’m direct and honest, keeping things just uncomfortable enough to push you past the safe choice and into the story that sticks.

I favor impact over polish—prep docs are 1–2 pages so you’ll actually read (and use) them.

Quirks

South Philly native. Maine Coon cat named Furry Bagel. Wheel of Fortune first runner-up (aka best loser). Often found traveling standby on Delta (pilot husband perks), cooking, or reading—when I’m not working or wrangling two boys.
